Night Light at Theatre Orangeville Theatre Orangeville's Theatre for Young People presents Night Light by John Lazarus. It will be performed one night day only - Sunday, Feb. 4 at 2 p.m. Night Light is a delightful play directed at young children (ages 4-9) about overcoming their fears and challenges. There is a monster in Tara's dresser! Her big brother, Victor, says it's just socks but Tara knows better. Whenever she wants to play in her room or tries to go to sleep, that big scary "thing" shows up again. And, if that's not enough to worry about, Tara's dad is in the hospital and he's really sick. Victor wants to help his little sister feel brave, but he's got trouble of his own: namely Farley, the school bully. How can Victor teach his little sister about courage when he's so scared himself? The two children discover that they can hold their own against monsters and bullies with hilarious, and very effective, results. This is a professional production featuring accomplished theatre actors. Both Sean Robertson and Mark Uhre have performed in the Mirvish production of Mamma Mia! And Sean has also recently been on stage in the Mirvish production of The Lord Of The Rings. Marla McLean's next acting role will be in the Shaw Festival. This can be a wonderful learning opportunity for children to discover their own value and strengths, while being exposed to a live, professional theatre experience directed at their age group. Tickets available at Theatre Orangeville's box office, 519-942-3423. |
