Historical society hears about mapping

The Caledon East & District Historical Society will present Deanna Coop, project co-ordinator of the Caledon Community Mapping Project, at its annual general meeting Jan. 31 at 7:30 p.m. at St. James Anglican Church, Caledon East.

Community maps can be an expression of the people, culture and history of an area. They provide geographical as well as historical records of what makes a place unique. It is for this reason that three local groups have taken the initiative to create a community map of Caledon that celebrates its natural and cultural heritage.
