Gas bar robbery, assault

Wednesday, Jan. 10, at approximately 9:20 p.m. a male suspect assaulted a gas bar attendant at a gas station located on Airport Road in Caledon East.

The male suspect described as in his late teens was wearing a dark coat with hood, hit the attendant in the face with a fist as the attendant stepped from the station's kiosk. The suspect took an unknown quantity of cash from the attendant and fled the scene on foot.

The male gas station attendant suffered cuts to his face from the assault but did not require medical attention at the time.

Caledon OPP Major Crime Unit is investigating, assisted by Canine, Scenes of Crime and OPP Identification officers.

Investigating officers would like to speak to anyone who was in or around the area of the gas station location on Wednesday evening during the time frame of this crime.

The investigation is on going and any person with information pertaining to this investigation or possible suspects are asked to contact Caledon OPP, acting detective sergeant Joe Morgado or detective constable Steve Cole at 519-927- 3041.
