Liberals seek candidates for the next two elections

Neil Orford, president of the Dufferin-Caledon Federal Liberal Association and Dennis Adair, president of the Provincial Federal Liberal Association, announced the formation of search committees for candidates to stand for election in the forthcoming federal election (likely this year) and the provincial election to take place in October.

"We are looking for people with ideas, with a good knowledge of agriculture, and with an understanding of issues that concern our riding. Ideally, a candidate should be known in the community," Orford said.

"We would be looking for these assets plus a knowledge of local and provincial affairs," Adair added.

Both said that all prospective candidates will have to seek the nomination at a contested nomination meeting.
