Mielzynski shines in races

Erin Mielzynski of Caledon is having a successful season on the Women’s Ontario Ski Team.

Taking a much deserved break, Caledon’s Erin Mielzynski of the Women’s Ontario Ski Team is turning heads on the Nor Am circuit. She has had an incredible start to her season.

Racing her first Nor Am in Lake Louise Dec. 8 she was 23rd from a 45 start position. Following up on this in the Panorama Super G Nor Am races she placed 14th on the following Monday (from a 63rd start) and 21st just recently from a 61st start. Erin was the top J1 in all three races.

This is Erin’s first year on the Ontario Ski Team. Along with Kate Ryley she fully qualified for the new OST Selection Criteria and at 16 is the youngest member of the team.

Erin participated in the Pontiac GMC race in Nakiska, Dec. 15-18. She returned home for the holidays and raced in the first Ontario FIS race, Dec. 28-29 at Craigleith.
