DC Green Party gets ready The Dufferin Caledon Green Party of Canada is gearing up for a strong federal election campaign, recently electing a full slate of new officers. The nine-member executive is headed up by riding president Ian McGugan of Orangeville. Other board members include Ard Van Leeuwen (Caledon), Rob Strang (Orangeville), Robert Sevigny (Cheltenham), Trish Keachie (Mono), Richard Procter (Mulmur), youth chairs Natalie Davis (Orangeville) and Jeff Scorgie (Mono) and recent Green Party candidate Ted Alexander (Caledon). With a full 10% of the last federal vote going Green in Dufferin-Caledon, the new team is set on doubling that figure in the upcoming election, expected as early as this spring. The local candidate search process is under way now, with a nomination meeting expected early in the new year. This is your opportunity! Join the Greens and help keep the government’s feet to the fire on climate change. Help make the environment the central issue in the federal election, likely to be held this year.
