School board official wins award

Donna Lee Reid, manager of purchasing with the Dufferin-Peel Catholic district school board, was recently presented with the 2007 McCordic Award.

The McCordic Award is presented annually by the Ontario Association of School Business Officials in recognition of an individual's outstanding contribution to the service of school business. This contribution will likely have taken place over a number of years and may have been through the association, through service with a school board, the Ministry of Education, a college or university or through another organization devoted to education in Ontario.

The award was established in 1980 to honour a former secretary of the association, Bill McCordic, who made exceptional contributions in the field of school business administration. The award is the highest offered by the association.

"We are extremely pleased and proud to learn that our own Donna Lee Reid, manager of purchasing, was recently selected as this year's recipient of the McCordic Award," said director of education Michael Bator. "Donna has demonstrated exemplary practice during her time with the board. She possesses a keen sense of professionalism and a determination to ensure that the authenticity and integrity of public sector practice is fully engaged here at Dufferin-Peel. This standard of integrity is one for which I am very grateful, as it has contributed to a heightened consciousness within our organization in terms of professionalism and attention to detail."
