BEEF DONATION TO CHARITIES
Since 2002, Peel Mutual Insurance Company in Brampton, has bought a market beef animal at the Royal Winter

Fair in Toronto and donated it to local charities. This year it bought the Queen’s Guineas entry of Britney Livingston
of the Peel 4-H Beef Calf Club and donated half of the beef to the Salvation Army Family Life Resource Centre in
Brampton. Melody Watson of the Salvation Army Family Life Resource Centre, accepts the beef from Dave
Jackson (far right), president of Peel Mutual, and Bill Jefferson (centre) of Jefferson Insurance Agency in
Brampton, who kindly paid for the cutting and wrapping of the beef which was done by Broadway Farms Market
on Heart Lake Road in Caledon. The other half of the beef was donated to the food bank in Sunderland and Gary
Brethour of Brown & Brethour Insurance Brokers paid for the cutting and wrapping of that half of beef. The total
amount of beef donated is close to 700 pounds.
