LIGHT UP THE NIGHT
The Light up the Night event Dec. 8 was a huge

success. The event, organized by the Cheltenham

Area Residents’ Association, exceeded everyone’s

expectations, drawing an estimated 300 people to

enjoy a brisk evening of touring the community of

Cheltenham and taking in the festive lights and

decorations of area homes. Four tractors and hay

wagons transported young and old from either end of

Cheltenham and met at The Cheltenham Country

Store which served as the half-way point for the

revelers to sip hot chocolate and greet friends and

neighbors. None of this would have been possible

without the enthusiastic participation and support of

the local farming community. Organizers would like to

specifically thank our tractor drivers Bill Frazer, Don

Lyons, Bruce McClure and Allan Thompson. The hay

wagons were loaned by Les and Allan Dolson, Gary

Mountain and John Wilkinson. The straw and hay

bales were provided to us by Brian Neeley and Gary

Mountain. Here, resident and wagon marshal Ray

Bowes is shown with regional councillor Allan

Thompson with three young participants.
