Caledon skier attends ski camp

Eight athletes from the Westwind Partners K2 Prospect Camp moved over to the Alpine Canada K2 Devonian Camp, after posting the fastest times at the Westwind Partners camp time trials. The time trials consisted of three runs of GS and three runs of Slalom with the best run of each discipline determining who would join Canada’s fastest K2 racers in the Devonian Camp.

According to Doug Findlay, AOA technical director, all the athletes performed very well with the selections being very close.

The eight fastest athletes include Brodie Ritchie of Caledon East (Devil’s Glen).

The Westwind Partners K2 Prospect camp got off to a spectacular start in Lake Louise where the group watched the Men’s World Cup Super G. The group of 25 was in the finish line cheering wildly after John Kucera posted the fastest time and all subsequent racers were unable to beat him. Following the race, the kids met many World Cup racers, obtained autographs and photos with stars from all nations. The day could only be described as inspirational.

Moving over to Panorama, B.C. training commenced amidst frigid temperatures and clear skies. The level of intensity was high as the racers pushed themselves and each other to their limits.
