BEARS ABOUND AT PJP II
The senior kindergarten classes of Mrs. Masucci, Mrs.Pennella, Mrs. Rosati and

Mrs. Marbella at Pope John Paul II School in Bolton held their annual Teddy Bear

picnic and contest recently, as a culmination of their study of bears and how they

and other animals prepare for winter. Special guests were Papa Bear, Goldilocks

and Baby Bear who the students had written to earlier in the month and invited.

The children made crafts with their reading buddies from Mr. D’Agostino’s grade 4

class and Mrs. DeCaria's grade 5 class and sampled various bear foods such as

fresh berries and honey sandwiches. Grade 7 students Monica Masucci, Hayley

Christian and Rosie Young from Mrs. Hassbergers grade 7 class used skills

learned from a recent drama unit on tableau and role play to role play Papa bear,

Goldilocks and Baby bear.
