Baptist church holds annual hayride Dec. 17
New building open

Caledon Hills Fellowship Baptist Church has opened its doors of its new building on Airport Road. the congregation is hosting its annual hayride this weekend.
Caledon Hills Fellowship Baptist Church (CHFBC) has opened the doors of its new church building at 16591 Airport Road just north of the town of Caledon East. Following an aggressive building project in which the church received

great start with the Fellowship Baptist

headquarters’ “Quick Build” program and a lot of long volunteer hours by its own congregation, phase one is complete and the building ready to receive visitors from the community.

“We were all anxious to occupy our new building, and just like any family moving into a new home, we knew that there would be much more to do after moving in,” said Arn Adams CHFBC’s building committee chairman. “But, it feels like home now and we can get it done over time.”

After only four weeks of working out the kinks the church has not missed a beat in its programming or services and has even added some.

“We want the community to know that we’re here and invite everyone to come and participate with us in worship on Sunday mornings or for that matter any other events that we hold,” said elder Rick Dray.

“Our prayer is that you feel welcomed, finding a place to belong, a reason to believe and as part of a family, you are encouraged to become everything that God intends for you to be.”

Programs run at the church building itself and some at the church house (at the top of the driveway) which is also still used for offices and small groups until phase two or three are complete. AWANA, (the kid’s program) now on Tuesday nights at 6:45p.m. is held in the church building. The Youth Group for teens meets at the Church House Sunday evenings under the

leadership of Associate Pastor Brian and his wife Joanne Carnahan, who joined the congregation in 2004. Pastor Brian is also in charge of the many small growth groups that run throughout the week.

December 17 CHFBC will host its annual old fashioned community hayride, complete with Christmas caroling, bonfire, chili and hot chocolate. Appropriately, the event will begin at the new building and end at a bonfire at the back of the property.

There is an excitement in the atmosphere in this congregation and a certain

awe that goes with the realization that, “without exaggeration everything our church has accomplished of eternal value is a credit to our great God,” said Senior Pastor William (Bill) Henderson. “It is our goal to love Him utterly and completely and to serve our community fully as His representatives here on earth.”

The church’s extraordinary history of growth and involvement in the community can be viewed under About Us on its new Web site, also created by a volunteer congregational member.
