Painting sells for $264,500!

Autumn Hills and Dark Pines, oil on canvas, circa 1930 hit the auction block in Toronto recently. This was one of a series of handsome canvases produced during David Brown Milne’s first year in Palgrave. In it Milne devotes his attention to the details of the typography of the land and the trees. The painting was estimated to sell anywhere from $125,000 - $175,000. It sold for $264,500!
