Peel okays 50/427 arterial network study

Peel regional council approved the continuation of Highway 50/427 extension area arterial network study recently.

The study was initiated in March to address the need for arterial road network improvements in the area of a Highway 427 extension. The study will assist the Ministry of Transportation in determining the need for the Highway 427 extension, the location of its future terminus point, route alignment, and the number and location of interchanges with major arterial roads.

The study is being conducted by Peel, Brampton and the Town of Caledon, with the technical involvement of the MTO, York and City of Vaughan.

The next step in the planning process is a master plan environmental assessment that will focus on an area extending from Airport Road to Highway 427, and Castlemore Road to Mayfield Road.

This environmental assessment will be initiated in collaboration with Brampton and Caledon.
