Serious injuries in collision

Caledon OPP officers and technical collision investigators are continuing their investigation of a serious collision that occurred at 8:46 a.m. Monday, at Castlederg Sideroad and Mount Pleasant Road.

A Sierra pickup truck travelling westbound on Castlederg, and a Ford SUV travelling southbound on Mount Pleasant collided within the intersection.

The 38-year-old female driver of the SUV and the passenger, an 11-year-old girl (both from Caledon) were seriously injured. the adult female was airlifted to Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and the girl was airlifted to the Hospital for Sick Children. Both remain in critical condition (at press time).

The 39-year-old driver of the pickup truck was not injured in the collision. The road was reopened at roughly 2 p.m. and charges are pending.
