Blackhawks back on track

The Halloween season was more than a little scary for the Caledon Blackhawks minor midget select team. The team suffered its first loss of the season and then followed that game up with a tie as the Blackhawks ran into a hot goalie. Caledon got things back on track with two dominating victories.

Caledon 6,

Snipers 2

Alex Fantin from Chris Mete and Michael Radisa opened the scoring for the Blackhawks. This goal was quickly followed by Mete's from Radisa and Fantin. Defenceman Franco D'Acri hammered home a slap shot for the Blackhawks' third goal with assists going to Mathew Ryan and Corey Carlos. Carlos added a solo marker to end the second period. Josh Turner scored two third-period goals to ice the game with help from defencemen Collin Brown and Jeff Wallace. Chris Heron was his steady self in net to preserve the win.

Caledon 5,

Lightning 2

The highly anticipated show-down between the two cross-town rivals left no one disappointed as the Blackhawks surged to 5-0 lead before the Lightning got on the scoreboard.

Mete scored a pair of goals with assists going to Fantin and Tyler Dingli. Andrew Nobile rifled home the Blackhawks' third goal on some nifty passing from linemates Turner and Ryan. Turner followed with a goal of his own and that was followed up by Ryan's goal as this line was just buzzing. Mitchell Gane played well in net keeping the Lightning at bay until late in the game.
