Morrison won vote count in four of five wards Mayor Marolyn Morrison officially gathered 6,923 votes compared to 4,949 for Councillor Garry Moore and 1,553 for former mayor Norm Calder. Morrison won the vote count in four of Caledon's five wards. In her home area of Ward 1 she especially dominated raking in 1,750 votes to only 413 for Moore and 347 for Caledon She also cleaned up in Ward 2 with 1,476 votes to Moore's 723 and Calder's 162. She also breezed to the top in Ward 3 with 615 votes to 169 for Moore and 127 for Calder. The race was a little tighter in Ward 4, but again Morrison placed first with 1,460 votes, edging Moore who had 1,249 votes. Calder trailed far behind with only 415 votes. Moore captured the top spot Ward 5 with 2,395 votes compared to 1,622 votes for Morrison and 502 votes for Calder. In Ward 1, Morrison won 12 of 13 polls. Her biggest margin of victory was in Poll 109 where she received 225 votes to just 40 for Moore and 13 for Calder. The only poll she didn't win was Poll 104 which Calder won with 80 votes to 62 for Morrison and 23 for Moore. In Ward 2, Morrison took eight of the 11 polls. Her best result was in Poll 210 where she pulled 210 votes to 23 for Moore and 21 for Calder. Moore came out clearly ahead of Morrison in polls 202, 208 and 211. In Ward 3, the mayor handily took all four polls. She was most dominant in Poll 301 with 195 votes to 43 for Moore and 39 for Calder. In Ward 4, Morrison claimed 10 of the 16 polls. She won Poll 404 by 100 votes with 172 tallies to Moore's 72 and Calder's 34. Moore won the other six polls with his best showing in Poll 416 where he received 114 votes to Morrison's 53 and Calder's 12. Ward 5 had the most number of polls with 25 and Moore won 22 of them to only three for Morrison. He won by 106 votes in each of polls 504 and 506. Morrison won polls 513, 514 and 524. |
