Paterak offers personal thanks

I want to thank the residents of Ward 1 for their support and encouragement during the election campaign. It was a pleasure meeting with old and new friends as I circulated throughout the ward in the lead-up to the election. The comments I received from residents expressing their concerns will help me focus my attention during this next term.

I would particularly like to thank all of those who helped directly by hosting an election sign or contributing financially to my campaign.

I would also like to thank the Caledon Citizen for its coverage of the election town-wide. I don't know if it is my imagination or not, but there seemed to be more coverage during this election than in past elections. The unfortunate thing is that this did not translate into more people making the effort to inform themselves of the issues and then expressing their views by voting.

Finally, thank you to all the residents that organized the all candidates meetings across the town. These organizers and organizations perform an invaluable service to the community through their efforts.

I look forward to working with all residents and businesses on the issues that affect us.
