The minor atom Cavalier Hawks beat Georgetown Raiders and Kitchener Rangers to improve their season record to 5-1-2 and claim second place in the standings.

Hawks 4,

Georgetown 1

The first period proved to be a battle, but Marc Anthony Simonetta banged one in with help from Jake Stronach. The Hawks next goal came when Zachary Wilson beat the Raider goaltender, assisting was Carter Ledson. The game stayed 2-0 for the Hawks until part way through the third when Wilson again scored, this time from Quinn Richardson. Georgetown found some life on a power play goal and started pressing hard. The Hawks iced the game on a textbook tic-tac-toe play from Luca Dovigo to Kyle Graham and with a great one-time finish from Steven Smythe. With good goaltending by Christian Ciraco, the game ended without any further scoring.

Hawks 4, Kitchener 2

Kitchener Rangers came calling next and also left disappointed.

The first period started out with both teams playing hard and taking turns tying each other up in their defensive zones. The Hawks struck first when Richardson set up Wilson with a pass from the corner. The game remained a tight contest through most of the second, but Simonetta scored on a solo effort giving the Hawks a 2-0 lead. The back-andforth battle continued into the third and Kitchener closed the gap to one. Smythe responded from Wilson to take the lead back to two goals. Smythe added his second of the night from Riley Telfer that gave the Hawks a three-goal lead. Kitchener continued to fight and scored their second goal with 5 minutes remaining in the game.

The Hawks protected their lead for the rest of the third, including back to back penalty kills, clinching a fifth win. Good work by Hawk goalies Koby Stronach and Ciraco and support by the defensive core kept chances to a minimum.
