Urban coding farce

The following letter, to S. Dietrich, project superintendent, Canada Post, was submitted to the Citizen.

Here is the latest position in the ongoing farce or urban coding in Caledon, as it applies to me. A long time ago I was awarded two postal codes, a fact which I made known to you and my MP at the time.

The first, L7C 3L7, I immediately transmitted to my correspondents, most of whom managed to cope with it. A few days later I received a second one, L7C 0V7. As mentioned previously, I complained about this to you and my MP, and then ignored it, assuming that it was a typographical error or something. I never received an explanation - not even an acknowledgement of my complaint.

Now, about a year later, everyone from the income tax department to my model airplane magazine has suddenly started to use the second one.

I demand an explanation, in simple terms, that a mere engineer with a humble pass degree can understand.

What is going on?

Am I to take it that I now have to notify all my correspondents of this other code? No way! You sort it out. I have had a bellyful.
