Caledon Library launches improved Web site

Caledon Public Library has launched a new Web site - ww.caledon.library.on.ca - that creates a user friendly 24/7 virtual library that is accessible, anywhere, anytime.

Caledon Public Library's new Web site is dynamic, interactive and offers easy navigation, fresh content and an engaging user experience.

"In today's electronic age, the Web site is an extension of the library, offering services and resources to the entire Caledon community," said Bill Manson, chief librarian. "The new Web site provides exceptional information, appeals to all ages and reflects the vitality of Caledon Public Library's programs." Features include reference

and research tools. Through the online catalogue, books and subjects can be searched, reserved and renewed. By logging on with their library card from anywhere, patrons can access our special collection of online resources such as the World Book Encyclopedia, Health and Wellness Resources, Electric Library Canada and Gale Information and Research databases.

From the Web site, children through seniors can find programs and events taking place at all 7 branches by accessing our event calendar. Caledon Public Library's many preschool, youth and adult programs are listed with a date, location and event description. From art exhibits to special story times to monthly book clubs, the library's extensive programs are easily accessible.

The online calendar can be sorted and searched in numerous ways including by date, event, week and audience. In order to connect with

the community the new Web site offers links to organizations in Caledon and also provides the user the opportunity to ask a librarian and recommend new materials.

The Caledon Library encourages everyone to enjoy its new Web site, then be sure to e-mail them and let them know what you think.
