Giffels to do bridge work

Caledon council recently retained Giffels Associates Ltd. to design a four-lane overpass bridge for Kennedy Road and a two-lane expandable overpass bridge with a five-lane substructure for Heart Lake Road.

The Kennedy Road improvements will cost $5.7 million and the work on Heart Lake Road will cost $8.1 million. The Town's costs are $3.8 million for Kennedy Road and $6 million for Heart Lake Road.

Additional costs for design, utility relocations and property acquisition aren't included. They will be negotiated during the detailed design stage.
