Bolton youngsters collecting Halloween candy for the less fortunate

Nicholas and Nathan Payne have begun a Halloween candy drive to help less fortunate children.
Are you looking for something to do with your leftover Halloween candy?

A Bolton parent and her children have organized a candy drive for the needy.

Tired of throwing candy away and witnessing her children stuff themselves with sweets, Lori Payne

found a charity interested in receiving our leftovers. Canadian Food for Children sends large containers overseas full of food items to more than 25 countries. Candies of any kind are accepted as donations as long as they are individually wrapped.

In addition, her children Nicholas, 7, and Nathan, 4, will also donate their Halloween candy to provide a little moment of happiness to children who are less fortunate than they are. Their candy drive will be held at Ellwood Memorial school in Bolton, which has come on board to help this endeavor. Candy can be dropped off at Ellwood until Nov. 16. Candy dropoffs can also be made at Inside Out Family Chiropractic (Hwy 50/King Street); South

Bolton Dental Centre (Wal- Mart plaza); Saltbox Gifts (69 Headwater Road).

The organizers will make the donation to the Toronto depot of Canadian Food for Children on Nov. 17.
