Tri-Star Landscaping/Just in Time minor atom AA Hawks looking good It was all Hawks Oct. 19 as the Tri-Star Landscaping/Just in Time minor atom AA team trounced the Guelph Jr. Storm 6-0. The scoring streak began half-way through the first period when Nando Sirianni popped his first regular season goal into the Guelph net. The assist went to Conner Morro. Jordan Bokla scored two quick ones in a row, with Sirianni assisting the second goal. The third period began with a huge cheer from the home fans as Jordan Bokla sunk his third goal of the night into the opposing net. Just under a minute later, David Pillsworth scored after taking a pass from Christian Hauck. Sean Nottle finished up the game with the Hawks' sixth goal. Nicholas Amato and Hauck were the helpers for this one. Spencer Boyd recorded the shutout in the Hawks net. The Caledon Hawks traveled to Stoney Creek Oct. 21. After the delay while everyone waited for the arena lights to come back on, the crowd witnessed an exciting, hard-fought game resulting in a scoreless tie. There were a few scary scrambles in front of Hawk goalie Joseph D'Amico and while the parents held their breath, Joseph held his ground and made several impressive toe saves, preventing any Warrior shots from entering his net. The Milton Winterhawks left the arena in shock Oct. 26 after the minor atom AA Hawks went on a scoring binge and won 12-0. Six Hawk goals were scored in the first period by Tyler Whitten, Sean Nottle, Conner Morro, Christian Hauck and Nicky Curro (2). The second period saw Nicky Curro completing his hat trick assisted by Lukas Richardson and Justin Donatelli. Conner Morro also recorded a hat trick by scoring two more goals, set up by Curro and Whitten on both. Sean Nottle popped his second one of the night after some talented passing from Mitchell Duggan and Nando Sirianni. Hauck got his second goal from a pass from Nottle. In the third period, with forwards playing the blue line and defencemen moving up front the scoring slowed down, but the Hawks still dominated over the bewildered Milton team. Jesse Fir shoved a late goal into the Milton net, assisted by Nicholas Amato to complete the 12-goal spread. The Hawks' anxiously awaited road trip was a successful event Oct. 28. The boys enjoyed the bus ride to St. Catharines, ate way too much at the Mandarin, and best of all pulled off another win for their family and fans that came along for the fun. Conner Morro scored the first Caledon goal after Tyler Whitten took a hard shot and Morro knocked in the rebound. The game was tied going into the second but Sean Nottle slid a low shot past the opposing goaltender late in the period to give his team the go-ahead. The goal was set up by Jordan Bokla and Nando Sirianni. Conner Morro scored his second goal of the game on the power play with Nicky Curro and Whitten being the helpers. In the third, Sirianni delivered a perfect tape to tape pass to get the assist on Nottle's second goal and the hat trick was secured when Nottle out-muscled two St. Catharines players and then fired one past their goalie. Final score was Caledon Hawks 5, and St. Catharines 1. |
