Teenagers given cautions for drug use

Caledon OPP Officers responded to 11 property damage and five personal injury collisions during the week of Oct. 16-22.

Saturday, Oct. 21, at approximately 5 p.m. Caledon OPP officers and Caledon Emergency Services responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Old Church Road near Sunshine Mountain Drive. The driver of an eastbound vehicle lost control causing the vehicle to leave the roadway and roll over. Three occupants of the vehicle, a 19-year-old female, a 20- year-old male and an 18- year-old female were transported to hospital by ambulance with serious but nonlife threatening injuries. Charges are pending for the 19-year-old female driver.

Alcohol & Driving

Wednesday, Oct. 18, a Caledon officer came upon a tractor-trailer stopped in the middle of King Street near Heart Lake Road. The tractor trailer driver, 49-year-old Robert Pettapiece of Thedford, Ontario was charged with Impaired Driving and Drive Motor Vehicle-Over 80 mgs. Of Alcohol in 100 mls. Of Blood. His court date has been set for Nov. 30.

Wednesday, Oct. 18, a report of a possible drunk driver received from another motorist led to a traffic stop near Heart Lake Road and Old Baseline Road in Caledon. The driver, 31- year-old Wayne Veley of Acton was charged with Impaired Driving, Drive Motor Vehicle-Over 80 mgs. Of Alcohol in 100 mls. Of Blood and Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle. Court date is set for Nov. 23.

Break & Enter

Sunday, Oct. 22, an unlocked garage of an Ernest Biason Blvd. residence was entered during the night hours. A couple of bikes, a compressor and some tools were stolen.

Drugs

Wednesday, Oct. 18, 10 students from Humberview high school, ranging from 14 to 17 years of age, were given Police Cautions under the Youth Criminal Justice Act regarding drug use and possession. The cautions are as a result of an incident of drug use involving the students at the park across from the school.

Mischief

Monday, Oct. 16, a fence on Westchester Blvd. in Bolton was damaged by spray paint during the late evening hours.

Sunday, Oct. 22, a vehicle attempted to drive through a bay door of a business on Nixon Road in Bolton. They were unsuccessful in their attempt.

Sunday, Oct. 22, a backhoe was found fully engulfed in fire at the rear of Humberview high school in Bolton. The machine is owned by a Mississauga paving company and the cause of the fire is unknown at this time. PC Richardson is requesting anyone with information on this fire or information on possible involved individuals to contact her at 905-584-2241.

Thursday, Oct. 12, a vehicle parked at an Schaefer Place home was entered during the night hours. Two vehicles parked at a Taylorwood Avenue home were also entered. Nothing was taken from any of the vehicles.

Thursday, Oct. 12, two unlocked vehicles parked at an Ellwood Drive West residence were entered during the night hours. Nothing was reported stolen.

Friday, Oct. 13, three windows of a business on Highway 9 were smashed during the night hours, however, entry to the business was not made.

Sunday, Oct. 15, homeowners on Whitehead Crescent in Bolton reported graffiti damage to their fence.
