Minor atoms on winning streak

The Caledon Hawks minor atom AAteam has been enjoying a recent winning streak in their regular Tri-County league games since pulling off a big championship win in the Georgetown "Best of the Best" Thanksgiving Tournament.

Head coach Dan Whitten and coaching staff Michael Bokla, Larry Richardson, Mike Morro and Tim Duggan are pleased with the way the boys have shown a strong desire to be first to the puck lately. The coaches and parents are impressed with the improved passing, skating and team play. All this, combined with recent more confident goaltending shared by Joseph D'Amico and Spencer Boyd has created positive results.

In regular season play, the Hawks out-muscled Georgetown Raiders 3-2 Oct. 12. The week continued to be very busy as the next day the minor atom Hawks beat Brampton 2-1 and then faced Ancaster on Saturday, coming home with a convincing 7-2 win.

The boys are looking forward to their upcoming bus road trip to St. Catharines Oct. 28.

The Hawks play their home games Thursday nights, 6:30 p.m. at Mayfield arena this season. Team members are Tyler Whitten, Nicholas Amato, Sean Nottle, Jordan Bokla, Laura Magliocchi, Jesse Fir, Mitchell Duggan, Jordan Kreller, Lukas Richardson, Justin Donatelli, Joseph D'Amico, Christian Hauck, Nando Sirianni, Spencer Boyd, Nicky Curro, Conner Morro and David Pillsworth. The players, coaches and parents wish to thank their main sponsors Tri- Star Landscaping and Just in Time Tool and Die for their support.
