Bolton's own waterfront project

Residents can now enjoy a stroll under the Queen Street bridge in Bolton, along the new walkway.
An attractive walkway has been constructed under Queen Street, at the Humber River bridge in downtown Bolton. The underpass connects to Bolton Mill Park and provides safe passage for Humberview students on their way to school; residents out for a stroll, and visitors wishing to browse in the downtown area. This is a Bolton Community Action Site project, and was funded with assistance from the Town of Caledon, Region of Peel, the Humber Valley Heritage Trail Association, downtown Bolton Business Improvement Area (BIA), and a grant from the TD Canada Trust, Friends of the Environment Foundation.

The Bolton Action Site is made up of community volunteers representing the Humber Valley Hiking Trail Association, Bolton Historical Society, Bolton & District Horticultural Society, Bolton Kinsmen, Bolton Rotary, BIA, Community Policing Association. It is authorized by the Toronto Region Conservation Authority to identify and develop projects along the Humber River in Bolton.

Future projects include the development of open space parks on the south side of the bridge at Queen Street, a continuous walking path along the southwest bank of the river, and permanent displays depicting the early history of the village of Bolton.
