Town's Progress Report highlights achievements

The Town of Caledon's 2005-2006 Progress Report is now available.

This annual publication brings together the Town's 2005 financial statements, results from the Municipal Performance Measurement

Program (MPMP), and achievements from the Caledon Community Work Plan into one comprehensive document. Copies are available at Town Hall, recreation facilities and library branches - a PDF version is also posted at www.caledon.ca.

Quality of life is the central theme for the Progress Report, identifying how community participation contributes to the goal-setting of the

municipality. Caledon's vibrancy and prosperity is demonstrated by the healthy combination of convenient access to health care and education, shopping and service amenities, a mixed housing market, diversified

economic base, recreational opportunities and rewarding employment prospects.

The publication highlights the Town's dedication to delivering effective services, processes and solutions that meet the varied interests of our community. In the past, a report such as the Town's Progress Report was more commonly associated with large corporations and targeted at their investors. Now, many forward thinking municipalities use this communication vehicle to reflect on past opportunities and challenges, establish priorities and enhance profiles. For the Town of Caledon, it also meets a customer service objective of communicating effectively with the community.

Mayor, council and staff are committed to keeping taxpayers informed about the Town's goals and achievements. Previously, the Town published three reports: a mid-year status report, financial statements, and MPMP results.

The Town of Caledon's 2005-2006 Progress Report was printed by Warren's Waterless Printing - an award-winning printer recognized for their quality and environmental practices. The Progress Report was designed by Merkley Design - its principal, Chris Merkley, is a resident of Caledon. Photography

and Lauri Kangas (also a

Caledon resident).
