There are millions of stories to be told about public libraries in Ontario. The Federation of Ontario Public Libraries (FOPL), TVO and the Caledon Public Library want to hear yours.

Telling Our Stories is a province-wide contest that highlights and celebrates the

Y positive impact of Ontario public libraries. Until Nov. 30, Ontarians are invited to share their personal stories of how a public library has made a difference to them or their families.

The top three winning stories in both English and French will be awarded prizes (1st prize $1,500; 2nd prize $1,000; 3rd prize $500) and will be featured in the media. In addition, a donation of $250 will be made in the name of the top three winners in both official languages and the top 10 combined English and French runner-up to the Ontario public library named in their entry forms.

The contest is supported by TV Ontario and the public can view contest submissions online at their Web site and vote for their favourites. Online voting by the public will be used to determine the short list of stories that will be presented to a panel of distinguished judges for their final decision.

Telling Our Stories is open to all Ontario residents aged 18 or older. Stories must be no longer than 500 words in length and may be submitted online or by fax or regular mail until Nov. 30 at midnight.
