HOOTENANNY PROCEEDS
Each year, Peel Regional Chairman, Emil Kolb, hosts his annual "Hootenanny", a

fun-filled evening with the profit proceeds used to benefit local children's charities.

This year, Caledon's Project Lifesaver was one of four youth programs selected to

receive monies from the event. Local Caledon councillors Nick DeBoer (left) and

Allan Thompson (far right) co-chaired the Project Lifesaver committee and are shown

here with Kolb and Ann Baka, project manager for Project Lifesaver, at the event.

Project Lifesaver Caledon is a collaborative effort between the Town of

Caledon, the Region of Peel, Brampton Caledon Community Living and the Caledon

OPP. It is a two-year pilot project committed to safeguarding the well-being of vulnerable

children who have a history of wandering due to a cognitive disability or

impairment, using the benefits of radio technology to locate them. The Peel

Children's Safety Village, the Peel Children's Centre, and the Credit Valley Hospital

will also be receiving funding from the Oct. 13 Hootenanny. A final tally from the event

will be made and formal presentations made at a later date.
