Optimists hold free pumpkin-carving night

The Caledon Optimist Club will hold its Pumpking Carving Evening Tuesday, Oct. 24 at the Alton Library, starting at 6 p.m. All children who preregister (send an e-mail to ted.simmonds@ sympatico.ca) will receive a free pumpkin, which they carve, supervised by their parents, plus a loot bag. Every year the Optimists celebrate this tradition with roughly 100 youngsters, so it promises to be a cheerful evening.
