No signs for Calder

Norm Calder, candidate for mayor, advises: "Do not look around as you will not find any of my election signs cluttering the highways and byways of Caledon."

Although Calder agrees with the new regulations limiting sign placement locations, he feels in most instances that both the quantity and large sizes of these signs contribute to traffic hazards blocking drivers' lines of sight and create unnecessary distractions. It is estimated that there will be approximately 5,000 to 6,000 signs in Caledon alone.

Mono Township's concept of unwritten agreements by all candidates not to install signage is commendable not only for the environment (non-recyclable materials in landfills forever) but also to maintain the beautification of our unique lands in the Hills of Headwaters country.
