Tory to run in Toronto riding

Progressive Conservative Party Leader and MPP for Dufferin-Peel-Wellington- Grey has decided to run for a seat in Don Valley West in the next provincial election.

"I will be pursuing a seat in Don Valley West in the 2007 provincial election. believe the first responsibility of those representing Ontarians is to keep our commitments. I committed to run in Toronto, where was born and raised in the next general election. I was clear in stating this was my intention throughout the byelection campaign in 2005. With this announcement am keeping that commitment.

"It has been a true honour to serve the people of Dufferin-Peel-Wellington- Grey. What a wonderful learning experience I have had these past 19 months representing a largely rural and smaller town riding. have lived the issues of my constituents; I have worked hard to represent them and I have seen first-hand the neglect our farmers and small towns have experienced under the McGuinty Liberals. I have learned so much so that now as a leader, I am better able to represent the priorities of both rural and urban Ontario.

"I would like to thank the people of Dufferin-Peel-

Wellington-Grey for welcoming me and placing your confidence in me.

"I look forward to continuing to serve the people of Dufferin-Peel-Wellington- Grey to the best of my ability over the next year, and beyond that as a part of a new Progressive Conservative government for Ontario."
