Viola hopes for change as Ward 3 and 4 regional councillor

Long-time Caledon resident and businessman Tony Viola hopes the residents of Wards 3 and 4 will be looking for solutions to the problems that have existed for years in his ward, after announcing his candidacy for the regional councillor position.

After seeing the same names that have held the position for years attempting to secure another four years Viola felt it was important to offer a committed and action-minded alternative to his fellow constituents.

"Other candidates have already had their chance as elected officials and failed to improve our Caledon," Viola responded when asked why he was running again. "I offer a fresh voice on council and the business acumen to get the job done. As a longtime resident and successful businessman I've proven I have what it takes to do a job

right, efficiently, and effectively. Our ward needs action and vision, not more wasted time. As the volunteer of several local committees, and chair of the Business Improvement Association, I have already proven my desire to work for the residents of Caledon."

Unlike the incumbent, whose Web site and campaign literature make the same promises and points as her 2003 campaign, Viola has built a platform looking to offer solutions to the problems of Caledon in 2006. He promises to bring more selected business to the Town; build better roads and improve winter maintenance; finish the neglected Bolton bypass; lobby for improved GO Transit service; improve the waste system; provide a full-time fire department to Wards 3 and 4; provide more recreational facilities, including those for seniors; and support no tax increases for four years.

"I have run for council in previous years and hope this is the year I get elected,"

Viola continued. "I didn't disappear for three years after the 2003 election, I continued to volunteer in my community as chair of the BIA and did great work with a great team. Now I'm looking to get the job done in our ward. Help me by voting for vision, commitment, and action on November 13 - vote Tony Viola for regional councillor, Ward 3 and 4."
