Big Brothers Big Sisters of Peel hosts 10th anniversary 'Share a Little Magic' gala

Saturday, Oct. 21, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Peel will host a night to remember at their 10th anniversary "Share a Little Magic" gala. Join them at the Garden Banquet Centre in Brampton for an elegant evening of entertainment and celebration.

Thanks to sponsors, Crawford Chondon & Partners LLP and TD Commercial Banking, guests will be provided with cocktails and silent auction at 6 p.m. Dinner and live entertainment begin at 7:30 p.m. complete with music from "New Hollywood" plus a mystifying magic performance by Ryan Wilson. A wide array of auction items including get-away packages, sporting event tickets and signed sports and entertainment memorabilia, will be available with all proceeds from the auction being directed towards creating mentoring friendships that will help children reach their full potential.

Currently 1,050 children in Peel Region benefit from being matched with a caring adult mentor, however, 300 children are still waiting. There are no real tricks to mentoring! The magic is that mentoring is a powerful tool where a child gains stability, support and guidance through their relationship with a caring adult role model. Studies show children and youth, provided with a reliable and consistent adult mentoring relationship, are better able to cope with the challenges of life. With your help, we can strengthen our community, one child at a time.
