Heritage Caledon celebrates 30 years with gala

Members of the gala committee display some of the unique silent auction items for sale at the gala Oct. 14. Shown are (seated) Rose Connelly & Fay McCrea, (back) Kathryn Mifsud & Ray Cowan.
Heritage Caledon's 30th anniversary will be celebrated in style with a dinner dance and silent auction at the Brampton Fairgrounds Saturday, Oct. 14.

The volunteer committee has gathered more than 60 antiques and decorative pieces over the last few months.

"We have fabulous creations and restorations,"

said gala chair Kathryn Mifsud. "The donations have been incredible."

The silent auction will not only feature a selection of furniture and antique tools, but original works of art and reclaimed items from the Caledon area and beyond. A lavish buffet dinner will be served by Gourmandissimo of Caledon East, followed by dancing to a live swing band.

Heritage resource officer Sally Drummond points out that this has been a busy anniversary year for Heritage Caledon.

"We held our first open house just a few weeks ago and now we're gearing up for this special event. The community has been tremendously supportive."
