Skating lessons, volunteer hours available

The Caledon Centennial Skating Club offers programs from learn to skate to advanced figure skating. Power skating is also available for both budding and more experienced hockey players.

A highlight of this season will be "Showcase" the first Sunday in March. Every skater will have the opportunity to show off his or her skating skills to the tunes of Broadway music.

As of press time, there is limited space available at all levels. Classes begin the week of Oct. 1 and new skaters are more than welcome to attend. New this year are Learn to Skate classes Tuesday and Power Skating Wednesday. Classes are also offered Fridays and Sundays.

The club is also looking for volunteers to help as program assistants with the Learn to Skate classes. This is a great opportunity for secondary school students to earn time towards their 40 volunteer hours which are required for graduation. If you can skate and like working with kids, this is the place to be. Being a PA isn't limited to figure skaters; hockey players are also welcome to participate.

The club skates out of Lloyd Wilson Arena located on McLaughlin Road in Inglewood. For more information contact Cathy Goudreau at 905-838-2246.
