Community safety zones

New community safety zones have been approved in Caledon. Staff from Caledon Central public school requested that a safety zone be implemented near the school to deter aggressive driving behaviour. Peel regional council approved a safety zone for Regional Road 24 (Charleston Sideroad) near Kennedy Road, and on Regional Road 14 (Mayfield Road). Council also approved extending the existing zone on Mayfield Road by 185 metres west of Bramalea Road, near Mayfield secondary school.

Community Safety Zones are incorporated in the Ontario government's road safety strategy, intended to discourage unsafe driving in school zones.
