Thefts from vehicles plague Caledon area Traffic OPP Officers responded to 15 property damage and one personal injury collision during the week of Sept. 18- 25. Break & Enter Monday, Sept. 18, during the daytime hours, a home on Coachwood Manor Court was entered. Items reported stolen from the home include jewellery, electronic equipment, alcohol and cash. Thursday, Sept. 21, a home on Dixie Road was entered through a garage during the daytime hours. A list of items taken is not known at this time, however, a vehicle was stolen from the driveway with keys that were stolen from the home. Saturday, Sept. 23, a Bolton area high school was entered by breaking of a door window. The entry occurred in the late afternoon on Saturday. School administrators have yet to advise what was stolen. Drugs Tuesday, Sept. 19, Caledon officers attended a motel on Highway 10 and arrested a male found to be in possession of a quantity of drugs. Twenty-four-year-old Christopher Sample of no fixed address was arrested and charged with several drug related offences. He was held for a bail hearing Sept. 19, charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance x 3, Possession for the Purposes of Trafficking x 3 and Breach of Probation. Mischief Monday, Sept. 18, vandals kicked over garage cans and placed two picnic tables on top of playground equipment at Caledon Central Public School sometime over the weekend. Monday, Sept. 18, damages were caused to a fence and portables at Ellwood Drive Public School over the previous weekend. A fence had been pulled out of the ground and extensive damage was caused to wood decks and steps of classroom portables on the grounds. Tuesday, Sept. 19, a homeowner on Hubert Corless Drive reported egging of the house occurred at approximately 10 p.m. in the evening. Another homeowner on St. Michael's Crescent reported someone throwing stones at the house windows. Saturday, Sept. 23, two signposts of a church on Mount Wolfe Road were reported damaged by vandals. Stolen and Recovered Vehicles Thursday, Sept. 21, a vehicle that had been previously stolen from the Hamilton area was recovered abandoned but idling in a driveway of a Heart Lake Road residence. Friday, Sept. 22, a vehicle owner returned from grocery shopping in Bolton at approximately 6 p.m. in the evening to find her vehicle gone from the spot where she had parked it. Another vehicle was parked beside it, which had been left running with the ignition punched. The vehicle had been stolen from York Region. Theft Tuesday, Sept. 19, 41- year-old Felice Palombi of Caledon was charged with Theft-Under and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime following his arrest at a store on McEwan Drive in Bolton. He will appear in court Nov. 2 to answer to these charges. Tuesday, Sept. 19, farm equipment was reported stolen from a property on The Gore Road during the daytime hours. A chipper shredder and a scraper blade have been reported stolen. Wednesday, Sept. 20, a vehicle's window was smashed and a laptop stolen from within the vehicle while it was left parked at a golf club on Regional Road 50. Friday, Sept. 22, another vehicle was entered at another golf club on Regional Road 50 while left in the parking lot. Items reported stolen from the vehicle include a wallet and a laptop. Friday, Sept. 22, a Stationview resident reported a backyard table and two chairs were stolen within the past week. Saturday, Sept. 23, several tools were reported stolen from a construction site on Highway 10 during the night hours. Sunday, Sept. 24, two vehicles parked at a Mississauga Road residence were entered during the night hours. A wallet was reported stolen from one of the vehicles. Sunday, Sept. 24, a golf cart was reported stolen from a golf course in the Caledon area. Sunday, Sept. 24, a vehicle parked at a Heritage Road residence was entered during the night hours by smashing of a vehicle window. A briefcase was reported stolen from within. A second vehicle at another address on Heritage Road was also entered. Nothing was reported stolen from the second vehicle. Domestic Disputes OPP officers responded to seven domestic disputes between Sept. 18 and 24. Charges were laid in Caledon Sept. 21 and 23 and in Bolton Sept. 23 and 24. |
