Lorraine Mennen speaks at B&DHS
By Patti Baker

The Bolton & District Horticultural Society will be presenting Lorraine Mennen of Pathways to Perennials Thursday, Oct. 5 at the Caledon Centre for Recreation & Wellness on Hwy. 50.

Among Lorraine's many talents, the art of drying flowers for use in wreaths and arrangements is one that she will be sharing with the audience that evening, with both a practical and slide show demonstration.

Many gardeners are still enjoying the last of the fall blooms and now is the opportunity to learn how to extend the beauty of their efforts and enhance their homes at the same time.

No need to pay those high prices for the driedflower arrangements seen in the stores this time of year when, with the tips and know-how from an expert, you can create your own using flowers from your backyards.

Meetings of the B&DHS start at 7:15 p.m. and admission is free to members, $3 to the public and $2 to members of other horticultural societies. Get a jump start on next year by purchasing your 2007 membership for only $15 per person or $20 for a family. For further information, call Cathy at 905-857- 1460.
