Diamond Towing midgets win in pre-season
By Carole Klich

The Diamond Towing midget select team came out with a bang in their preseason hockey game Sept. 14 at Bolton arena against the Cooksville midget team.

It was an action-packed game for the fans. A back and forth game highlighted the 1st period with all the players rushing the nets as hard as they could. It was not until the second period when Cooksville gave a wakeup goal to our team. With total control, defenceman Kevin Lee made a stunning pass to his linesman Adam Guadagnini, who then gave a perfect slap shot from the blue line into the back of the net to tie the game one apiece. Teammate Brandon Parps continued filling the opposing net with a spectacular goal via a pass from Vince DiSomma. Within 20 seconds, a third goal was scored by Robert Ferrante and assisted by the talented Bandon Parps. The boys were on a roll!

To seal the win in the third period, Mike Favot came from behind the blue line and fired a sweet goal into Cooksville's net which gave the team a total of 4 unbelievable goals to hold the lead. Shots from the opposing team were fast and furious, however, with the talent of both goalies Danny DaSilva and Mathew

Stewart, they could not find a way into Bolton's net. With only 10 seconds left on the clock, Cooksville pulled out all the stops and fired one last goal to end the scoring.

With all the efforts from Joseph Gravina, Jeremy Sills, Adam Perri, Dante Commisso, Jake Smolak, Ryan Mason, Lucas

Bifolchi, Arron Pederson and R.J. Oswald, the team took the 4-2 win.

The Blackhawk team would like to formally thank the sponsors they have acquired, for making this season possible Diamond Towing, Lormac Painting & Decorating Ltd., Builders Supplies Ltd., and Bel Air Lumber.
