PATTERSON, Margaret Lillian, R.N., nee Barbour
At Hanover and District Hospital on Tuesday, September 12, 2006 in her 83rd year; beloved wife of Donald (Mike) Patterson of Hanover formerly of Orangeville; loved mother of David and his wife Nancy of Winnipeg, Jane Watch and her husband Don of Hanover and Robert and his wife Cathie of Washago; loved grandmother of Jill, Mike, Sara, Ian, Andrew and Valerie; also sadly missed by her sister Lavina Bates-Harris. Marg married Don (Mike) Patterson on October 22, 1947, she shared 58 years of happiness with the love of her life. Marg enjoyed a career in nursing at Dufferin Area Hospital and later was the nursing supervisor at Dufferin Oaks in Shelburne. Marg retired from nursing in 1973 and worked with her husband at Patterson's furniture store in Orangeville. Marg and Mike left Orangeville in 1987 sharing their time between the cottage at Kincardine and their Florida home in New Smyrna Beach. Marg enjoyed a full life as a wife, mother and grandmother, she touched many lives throughout her life's journey. Her love, kindness, generosity and laughter will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her. A Memorial Service was held at Tweedsmuir Presbyterian Church, 6 John St., Orangeville on Saturday, September 16, 2006 at 2:30 p.m. As expressions of sympathy donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Mrs. Patterson in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. A dedication service will be held on Sunday, September 9th, 2007 at 2:30 p.m. (Condolences may be offered to the family at www.dodsandmcnair. com)
