Macville Fox Run Sept. 27

Macville public school is moving, but just for a morning!

Wednesday, Sept. 27 marks a change to how Macville's students and staff participate in the annual Terry Fox Run. Instead of running, walking or skipping around the school's beautiful grounds, every student and staff member will walk along part of the Palgrave Trailway.

After a brief assembly, attended by Caledon Mayor Marolyn Morrison, PDSB Trustee Valerie ArnoldJudge and OPP S/Sgt. Greg Sweeney who are all joining the walk, students and staff will be bused to the entrance of the Palgrave Trailway at the pavilion on the west side of Regional Road 50. Junior and intermediate students will begin their walk at 9:30 a.m. and will continue until they reach The Gore Road. Primary students will begin at 9:45 a.m. and will finish at Patterson Sideroad. Students and staff will be met by buses at each end point. OPP officers will block the major crossing points at Patterson Sideroad, Humber Station Road, and The Gore Road.

This unusual event is a wonderful way to share a school-wide experience in the fresh air and in the glorious fall setting of the trailway. Above all, Macville continues to support the Terry Fox Foundation that provides funding for cancer research while echoing Terry Fox's magnificent message that one person can make a difference.
