Great fall drives in the Hills of Headwaters Summer is leaving us again but, for those of us fortunate enough to live or work in Caledon or the surrounding Hills of Headwaters region, a great consolation is that we can now look forward to the dazzling array of colour that is about to explode all around us. Fall is the ideal time of year to "explore your backyard" and discover or reacquaint yourself with the many beautiful features, both natural and man-made, which make this region special. Where else in the world can one find features and attractions like the Niagara Escarpment, the Oak Ridges Moraine, the Cheltenham Badlands, meandering rivers, shimmering waterfalls, farmers markets, historic mills and quaint heritage towns and villages, all within a short trip of each other over quiet country roads? Look to the Hills of Headwaters Tourism Association as a great resource for ideas on places to visit and things to see and do in the region. One of the most popular requests at this time of year is for fall driving routes that showcase the colours and landmarks for which this region is renowned. As a result, the Tourism Association has created a special Web page that lists five great driving tours - each of which features breathtaking vistas of the spectacular scenery that surrounds us. For those who wish to stop and shop, enjoy a meal at one of the areas many exceptional restaurants, indulge in a relaxing spa treatment, or relax at a quaint country inn or bed and breakfast, specific pit stops are also recommended along each route. This fall, why not hop in your car, on a motorcycle or even ride your bicycle and take a Great Fall Drive? Doing so will reaffirm your choice to live and work in The Hills of Headwaters.
