Local minister faces sexual assault charges A local church minister has been charged by Toronto's Sex Crimes Unit with sexual historic assault. William Brian Major, 63, was arrested Aug. 24 in relation to a historical sexual assault which allegedly occurred between 1997 and 2005. It is alleged that at the time of the offences, the man was a United Church minister at Manor Road United Church in Toronto and Mono Mills United Church in Caledon, and in his capacity as a minister and counsellor, he sexually assaulted a woman, now 52. Major, 63, of Orangeville, has been charged with three counts of Sexual Assault. He is currently a pastor at Mono Mills United Church. He is scheduled to appear at College Park courts Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2006. |
