Former office charged

Caledon OPP arrested and charged 59-year-old Robert (Bob) George Lewis in Fenelon Falls Aug. 21. He was charged with two counts of indecent assault and two counts of gross indecency.

The charges, police indicate, related to incidents reported to have occurred between 1975 and 1979. Lewis worked out of the Snelgrove OPP detachment in Caledon from 1969 to 1976.

He appeared in Orangeville Court Aug. 21 and was released on $10,000 bail.

Lewis then worked at Minaki in 1976; Islington between 1976 and 1978 and Coboconk in 1978. He retired in 1997.
