Education campaign on The Town of Caledon Fire & Emergency Services department will be visiting residents throughout the village of Bolton this summer. Through to Sept. 30, the Bolton firefighters will distribute information and answer questions about fire prevention and safety. The Town of Caledon supports a proactive approach to the prevention and control of fire. The most significant way to achieve this is through community fire safety education. To ensure that Caledon residents are educated about fire, Fire & Emergency Services implements a number of initiatives aimed at specific groups within the community identified as being at risk. These groups range from nursery school children to senior citizens, allowing resources to be deployed in areas where the greatest impact could be achieved. On average, Caledon's Fire & Emergency Services department respond to more than 2,000 calls each year. In Ontario, fire kills close to 100 people each year, with millions of dollars in property damages. |
