Klim ties for 14th in golf

Kent Klim of Belfountain shot a threeround total of 227 to finish in a tie for 14th at the 71st Investors Group Ontario Senior Men's Amateur Championship at The Cutten Club in Guelph.

Klim shot rounds of 7775-75 to finish 20 strokes off the lead.

Stu Hamilton of Mississauga shot a final round 70 to capture championship.

Hamilton, 61, completed his dominance of the field with rounds of 68-69-70 for a 207 total. Thanks to four birdies on the day, the 2001 champion finished the tournament with a 10-shot victory.

"Winning this event is beyond my wildest dreams," Hamilton said. "I had no expectations going into the week because of my bad back, but wanted so dearly to play because The Cutten Club holds a special place in my heart."
