Retirement celebration

A retirement celebration for Doreen Armstrong, retiring executive director of Family Transition Place, is set for Sept. 6 at the Caledon Golf Club in Inglewood.

"The community is invited to join us for an evening of laughter, reflection and celebration in honour of Doreen whose vision and commitment truly made a difference," said board chair Brenda Dee.

Tickets for the dinner and evening are $25. They're available at Family Transition Place by calling 519-942-4122 or 905-5844357, ext. 222, or by em a i l i n g rsvp@familytransitionplace. ca. Reception begins at 5:30 p.m., dinner at 6:30 p.m.

Under Armstrong's leadership, FTP has evolved from an emergency shelter for abused women and their children to a multifaceted agency that offers residential, counselling, transitional and legal supports for women in need of safety and support as well as violence prevention programs to youth, men and women.
