$75,000 damage in structure fire

A structure fire Friday, Aug. 11 at 4:10 p.m. caused $75,000 worth of damage at 17232 Heart Lake Rd.

Caledon Fire & Emergency Services responded to a four-bay detached garage on the property that was fully involved.

Fire crews had to deal with the advanced level of the fire and heat conditions as well as fire exposure to a large propane tank behind the garage to extinguish the fire. Radiant heat from the fire caused damage to a pickup truck and garden tractor on the adjacent driveway, as well as to the house 20 metres from the garage.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Responding to the scene were Inglewood, Caledon and Cheltenham fire departments as well as Peel EMS and Caledon OPP.
